Stepping out of your comfort zone.

Your "comfort zone" is called that for a reason: It's comfortable and secure. However, that zone can be a place of stagnancy-- one that keeps you from seizing opportunities for growth. I constantly press my clients to check in on their comfort, that could look like what it is that you are constantly avoiding, what conversations or truths you need to have with yourself or others? What small steps are you not willing to take?

It's a lot easier to stay within the limits of where you feel comfortable than it is to face the fear of venturing beyond them. However those limits could be causing you to lose out on professional opportunities, life experiences, and personal growth.

You can do it, the hardest part is taking the first step. Here are a couple of means to step out of your comfort zone.

  • As I mentioned above, take the first step.

  • Do not choose the secure way that you have accustomed to.

  • Go easy on yourself and start small.

  • Take a different route home.

  • Know that it's okay to make a rash decision.

  • Take into consideration other points of views.

  • Say "yes" more frequently.

  • Do what you're afraid of.

  • Allow others to decide for you. This one is scary but can work with trusting individuals.

  • Change from your favorite restaurant and try something new, maybe a new culture cuisine.

  • Don’t worry about others opinions, it’s time to “DO YOU”!

It's natural for our minds to keep us from making these types of adjustments, the more you think about taking the smallest action, the closer you are into taking action.

Create a goal and break it down right into small steps. Concentrate on one step each time. This strategy will enhance your self-confidence, connect a positive end result with your goal and motivate you to stick with seeking it out to ultimately achieve the result of coming out of your comfort zone.

You can do this, I believe in you!

Taking some time out....

Life can get overwhelming on it’s own, and the way of the world right now, this election, it’s enough to drive us all crazy! Stress and anxiety from a collective energy has the potential to cause us to quit making progress and moving forward in our purpose and goals.

Rather than allowing your mind to shift with all the pollution that’s being presented before us, we have the power and ability to get some relief. Don’t confuse what I’m about to advise as a reason to shut down and quit completely, rather, take it as a suggestion that we all need to take a time out for some self care and allow ourselves the chance to recollect and re-energize.

Recently I decided to not log on social media on the weekends, and it has been exhilarating. Majority of the time we don’t realize the amount of stimulation we engage with when we are scrolling, some things in our feed can easily allow us  to fall under spells of stress.

So if you are starting to really feel a little frazzled, you will benefit significantly from taking a little time on your own away from the noise. It’s vital to permit ourselves chances to unwind and not have a guilt trip about it. Engage in taking some naps, get a pedicure, go for a long walk, just give yourself two days and feel the big benefits. You will benefit greatly from taking the time you need to stop and smell the roses, and not just see #rosesofinstagram!

Balance in our schedule.

Life is about maintaining a balance of all facets. Sometimes some areas of our lives may get more emphasis than others, but we have the capacity to create space for balance, I like to call it “planning peace”. We make plans for so much, having balance and peace should be on the top of the list. It’s said that it takes 3 weeks to develop a habit, if you develop these habits with equilibrium in your life, I promise, you will not regret it. You must have a feeling of success at the end of the day, for some success is simply knowing you were able to smile, I like to celebrate every win. when the day is over as well as you're heading to bed for the evening. Keeping an open mind under all circumstances will certainly allow you to maximize situations.

If you ever experience a nudge that you need to be doing something a lot more for yourself, possibilities are you ought to be. Not having the correct balance in your life can definitely come with drawbacks, nobody appreciates this circumstance, and it offers a sensation of being burnt-out. Indicators that you are lacking balance in your life can look like lack of patience, road rage, lack of capacity to take care of stressful circumstances, consistent fatigue, irritability and the list goes on. When this occurs it’s time to take pleasure in the finer things in life, such as: working out, spending time in nature, time with non toxic friends and family, or creating a nightly ritual to wash the day away.

Although being highly energised and also being positive throughout your day can offer you a better strategy with handling the obstacles you tackle, it's vital to take breaks every so often. Relaxing as well as taking breaks is not a waste of time, but these relaxation points are what provide you the capacity to go the extra distance when the going gets difficult.

Happy International Day of Peace!

The peace of an enlightened mind is found via the knowledge of knowing God has gifted each one of us the power to embrace and share peace with others. Acceptance of our personal obligation of what we see encourages our dedication to see our neighbor in a new light, today like never before there's a fight for unity, there's no unity without peace.

On this International Day of Peace it's my prayer that more human beings commit to creating peace by joining forces with the voices speaking out, crying out for justice, civil and equal rights, I pray that the mentally and physically blind become consciousness to the latter. The path to peace lies within as well as in the world and can certainly be found with a dedication and intent.

Happy International Day of Peace!

What keeps us up at night?

While for some it might have been excessive pizza that’s giving you heartburn, for many people today, specifically entrepreneurs, supervisors, and execs, the answer is stress. And with a global pandemic running rampant a lot of people are over-stressed.

The Centers for Disease Control estimates that 60% to 70% of all conditions and health problems are stress-related. I can attest to this, as joyful as I am I encountered an outbreak from head to toe, a few years ago, in addition to that my blood pressure was through the roof, all of this was due to being a toxic relationship and environment. Once removed myself, healing came. It’s amazing what we can do to save our lives.

There is a lot of good info and understanding on stress and how to decrease stress. Here are some tools to help you reduce stress, improve your rest and bring more peace in your life.

1. Conscious Awareness of Ideas and Beliefs - Familiarize what you are believing and feeling throughout the day. Are your ideas unfavorable, scared or restricting? Do you fret about everything: cash, health, as well as relationships? If you are assuming negative thoughts, you are drawing in right into your life adverse people as well as unhelpful circumstances. You are doing the very thing you do not want to do. Try to "release" of the thought and replace it with a positive idea or image.

2. Visualization - Professional proof shows that physical changes clearly happen when people practice images routinely. Developing a mental image in your mind is a very powerful practice to make use of before going to sleep. Begin by relaxing with songs or in silence and produce a photo of a peaceful place. After that picture in your mind what you want to happen. "I am totally loosened up, I will wake-up with peace, I will rest soundly through-out the night." If you practice this method often, you can instill these messages into your subconscious mind as well as turn on the relaxation reaction anytime you want.

3. Reflection - Meditation before bedtime for 10 to twenty minutes is valuable for reducing anxiety as well as promoting sounder sleep. Sit silently in a comfy chair, shut your eyes as well as take a breath deeply. Focus on your breath; relax your chest as well as body. When your mind wanders and you find yourself shed in various other thoughts, let the emotion or thoughts go as well as return your emphasis to your breathing. This practice functions swiftly to reduce tension and rebalance your body. Continue for a minimum of ten minutes or until you really feel drowsy.

4. Exercise, Workout, Exercise - It's a wonderful way to release stress as well as strengthen ourselves versus the physical results of stress. Take part in aerobic activity; walk, run, ride a bike, dance, whatever, just do something. Exercising in the morning or early evening can help burn energy.

5. Laugher as well as Fun. - Laughter is one of the healthiest remedies to stress, and it’s my favorite. When we laugh or even smile, blood circulation to the brain is boosted, endorphins are dancing, as well as degrees of stress and anxiety hormonal agents decrease. Begin to take notice how often you grin. Individuals that experience joy, fun as well as hard, stomach tightening laughter rest well.

6. Do Something About It - Instead of fret, re-living the scenario over and over or spending sleepless nights thinking of the consequences, take some activity to move the concern forward. Speak to a friend, schedule a session with your favorite Peace Practitioner, journal ... simply do something.

Mastering the art of letting go.

Experiences, whether excellent or negative, are occasionally all we have, and a lot of them reside in the past. So you may ask, why should I let go of my past when much of it is filled with gorgeous memories and also peace? Well, that is definitely not what I suggest. What I do suggest is when a past is cluttered with apparently overwhelming pain, it hampers one's capacity to move forward and adapt to this ever-changing globe. A good example would certainly be of a knapsack full of troublesome memories that one tries to swim with, however it always seems to bring you down and have you struggling to take a breath.

This backpack, although not physically connected to one's body, seems like some type of appendage that ridding oneself of is extremely hard or unpleasant. So, as human beings do, we many times avoid the detachment of this pain since it has actually indelibly been written into our past as if in stone. If, for example, a collection of agonizing experiences throughout your childhood years, like a form of abuse always seems to haunt your capacity to advance in your interpersonal relationships. Consequently, you unconsciously mess up these connections by not being 100% present in the relationship, or vocally providing way too much pressure and negative energy as a result of your “in the past thinking.

The frame of mind of intertwining the past with today has the potential to harm everything you are in contact with, because the backpack is still around your hurting shoulder. Removing the backpack may be the hardest thing you can do, yet consider the price of preserving its existence? A mind polluted with pain can be detrimental, if you don’t do the work to take care of your mind and heart.

By now you may be saying “well, how do I recognize if my past is hurting my future?” A painful past surface areas unconsciously, if not appropriately dealt with.. Additionally, knowing you are the only individual that can identify what discomfort you lug with you, to make sure that becomes your antidote. When appropriately evaluating your existing mental health, you are required to establish all satisfaction aside as well as start to explore your past, incorrect satisfaction can mask what a more lucid-thinking individual can clearly see as unpleasant. Consequently, a lucid as well as logical attitude is of the utmost importance.

Identification of certain events that are painful and then indexing them in their level of relevance, is likewise important in knowing to what degree certain memories are impeding your progression. In the indexing stage, one must determine as well as compare or try to find the memories that cast the longest shadow. When this is finished, the hard task of releasing needs to continue. Ask yourself honestly, is this memory worth keeping this close, or would letting it go make my life simpler? This price benefit evaluation needs to be done with all the harmful memories, in order to recognize their role in suppressing your life.

Although letting go of a damaged past is very handy in one's future, it can not be overstated that this procedure is simply that, a process as well as can not be done overnight.. As each negative frame from your memory dissipates, you will certainly not only be able to really feel the knapsack become lighter, but you will certainly be able to begin moving more freely into your future.

The input from the world around us can also be a resource of stress and anxiety. Take into consideration just how you react to unexpected sounds, such as a barking dog, or exactly how you react to an intense sunlit space or a dark room. How do you feel when unwelcome guests arrive, who are they, do they irritate you in some way?  What’s the feel of your work environment.? Typical joy killers at work include difficult boss or colleagues, unlimited emails, immediate deadlines or a demanding micromanager.

Demands and requests that trigger stress are super important to highlight because these are hidden triggers that are sometimes overshadowed. Are you an over-giver? Satisfying new people can be demanding. Do you get nervous when asked to speak publicly?

Uncertainty, pessimistic energy and lack of control bring on over thinking. Very few people appreciate not knowing or not having the ability to manage what could take place in their life.

Consider exactly how you may react when waiting for the results of anything. This could look like mindsets, point of views or assumptions. You may not even consider just how your beliefs shape your experience, yet these pre-programmed thoughts often set us up for stress, therefore disturbing our peace. Think about the expectations you put on yourself to produce an outcome, especially ones that you cannot control the outcome.

Strategies to manage external stress factors include the way of life variables such as consuming a healthy diet regimen, being energetic, and getting enough rest-- which help enhance your resiliency. Various other valuable actions include asking for help from others, making use of humor, finding ways to be more assertive, and practicing problem-solving and time management. Take into consideration just how you use your time and energy by concentrating on activities that are very important to you, paring down the number of activities you're associated with, and saying no to new commitments.

When it comes to the practices our minds, some of us have programmed our minds to trigger stress and anxiety, the good news is that we have the mental capacity to manage our ideas, thoughts and beliefs. The trouble is that our fears, perspectives as well as assumptions have been our friends for a very long time and it commonly takes some initiative to change them. Approaches to take care of internal stress factors include reframing your ideas and selecting a positive way of thinking, challenging adverse thoughts, making use of leisure strategies, and talking with a trusted close friend, counselor, life coach, member of the clergy or therapist.

Every human being has this capability to use their mind to improve their lives. In order to start functioning in the direction of locating your inner peace, you must pay attention to your triggers; people,  places and self-inflicted. Once you identify those triggers, it gives you the strength but most importantly the peace to not get stuck in low energy spaces. Have you noticed that I've mentioned "inner peace" a lot throughout this blog? I want you to know that inner peace is attainable no matter what you are facing. Let "I have inner peace" be your mantra!
